Moonlight Peaks — gothic cozy farm at night

Moonlight Peaks Mining

Moonlight Peaks mining — ore nodes, bars, and upgrade materials.

Moonlight Peaks mining and smelting

Moonlight Peaks mining feeds every mid-game system: tool upgrades at Howling Hammer, Furnace blueprints, glass for the Mana Extractor, and Copper Bars for bridge repairs. Surface rocks on your farm yield stone, not ore — real metal lives in instanced caves unlocked by story.

Moonlight Peaks is a cozy life simulation RPG where you play as a vampire settling an abandoned family farm. Plant magical crops, learn wand spells, brew potions, fish, mine, and build friendships or romance with residents across seven supernatural families. This Moonlight Peaks mining guide walks through Cave of Echoes copper, Crystal Cave quartz, smelting at the Furnace, and Iron Ore nodes that appear once your pickaxe tiers up. Cross-link spells Ethereal Pickaxes when you need to break sixteen rocks without stamina drain.

Watch the night timer — ore nodes do not respawn until later nights, so prioritize large copper clusters and pink quartz slabs before dawn forces you back to the coffin.

Copper Ore and Cave of Echoes

Your first metal quest is A Croak and a Crest from Yabbis — mine copper inside Cave of Echoes. Reach the cave only after A Bridge Too Far clears the southern fog: pay Samael 350 gold for Orlock's tab, visit Fiona in Moonlit Pines, then cross the reopened bridge to Misty Shores.

The cave mouth sits on the sandy beach at Misty Shores' bottom-left, west of Orlock's mansion. Inside, look for grey rocks streaked with orange copper. Your Rusty Pickaxe works day one; prioritize multi-vein boulders.

Copper also enables the Furnace blueprint and first Copper Pickaxe upgrade (15 Copper Ore and 5 Refined Stone for workbench crafting milestones per launch notes). Farm refined stone from regular cave rocks — copper nodes rarely drop stone.

Crystal Cave and Rose Quartz

North of your farm, Moonlit Pines hosts Fiona's cottage and the hidden Crystal Cave. From the campfire south of her house, walk west past the natural pool, then north toward wooden stairs. A boulder blocks the entrance — smash it with a Copper Pickaxe or better.

Inside, pink nodes are Rose Quartz; blue nodes are Moon Crystals. Mining quartz requires an Iron Pickaxe. Rose Quartz becomes Quartz Dust in the Enchanted Mortar, then Glass with charcoal in the Furnace — mandatory for Summer's Mana Extractor storyline and potions like Alter Ego Elixir.

Catch Soul Blobs with your net while inside; deliver Vampsters to collection NPCs if Alina's quest is active. Glowglammer mushrooms grow on cave floors for high-energy stews on the recipes page.

Moonlight Peaks Furnace and metal bars

Craft a Furnace at the Workbench once you have copper and stone stockpiled — the exact blueprint unlocks alongside bridge progression. Place it on the farm like other stations; interact to smelt ore into bars with fuel.

Copper Bars: smelt 4 Copper Ore per bar (launch ratio). Bars feed Copper Axe, Copper Pickaxe, and Ridge's first upgrades (1,000 gold · 1 Rusty tool · 3 Copper Bars for Copper Axe from Howling Hammer).

Iron Bars follow once Iron Ore nodes appear — upgrade paths mirror copper. Charcoal from burned wood fuels glass recipes alongside quartz dust.

Bars also appear in town construction quests and barn upgrades. Keep a chest tab labeled bars so you do not accidentally gift them — Ridge pays better than villagers.

Pickaxe upgrades at Howling Hammer

Ridge Logan runs Howling Hammer in town — the werewolf smith who converts Moonlight Peaks mining loot into tiered tools. Upgrades need gold plus bars; you keep the previous tool as material.

Recommended order: Copper Pickaxe (Crystal Cave door) → Iron Pickaxe (Rose Quartz) → Copper Axe (Dark Wood farm logs) → Iron Axe (late hardwood). Pair upgrades with spell purchases so Ethereal Pickaxes cover nights when bars are still grinding.

Large crystal nodes inside Crystal Cave may need gold-tier pickaxes — return after Summer story beats if pink slabs refuse to break.

Moonlight Peaks mining FAQ

Where is Copper Ore in Moonlight Peaks?

Cave of Echoes on Misty Shores beach — unlock via A Bridge Too Far. Look for orange-streaked rocks.

How do I smelt Copper Bars?

Use a Furnace on your farm — 4 Copper Ore makes 1 Copper Bar at launch ratios.

Where is Iron Ore?

Deeper mining nodes after Iron Pickaxe tier — often paired with Crystal Cave back chambers or new cave layers.

Why can't I mine Rose Quartz?

Upgrade to Iron Pickaxe. Copper only breaks the cave boulder; quartz nodes need iron tier.
